Hi, friends!
I know I’ve been quiet on here the past few weeks, so I wanted to send a short update on what’s going on behind the scenes at Human/Mother.
After giving it substantial thought, I’ve decided to place the Mind-Body-Soul Weekly Series on pause. Life is feeling very full at the moment with my daughters’ return to school, my own transition to working from home as a freelance writer, and the beginnings of ~all the holidays~ season.
I’m aiming to bring the series back in the New Year. As always, I never want to rush my writing out the door, and I feel better about myself and my words when they are given ample time to incubate, develop, and grow.
So far this year, I’ve published 13 personal essays, which averages out to about two essays per month, each of which take a considerable chunk of time to ideate, write, revise, edit, revise, edit, etc.
I’m proud of my work here, and I am pushing myself with each new post to deliver a read that not only whets your literary palate but also informs, entertains, and/or moves you.
Trust that I don’t take for granted the fact that you have chosen to subscribe to this tiny publication and read my work. I am beyond grateful for your support, both in-person (the hugs! the cheers!) and on-line (the likes! the comments!). Y’all rock.
Thank you!

ICYMI: Two weeks ago, I published an essay about visiting the MoMA for the first time as a mother and as a tourist on her fifteenth wedding anniversary. If you haven’t found the time to read, now is pretty good: “At the MoMA.”
Oh, and one more quick announcement/reminder:
From now until the New Year, take advantage of Human/Mother's "Celebration of Fall" Special Offer. You’ll receive a 50% discount off an annual subscription ($50 value for $25)!
